Last year, the B.C. Labour Heritage Centre recorded first-hand accounts of BC’s working people’s experiences through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The purpose of the project was to capture, expand and enrich history by documenting (through photos, interviews, artifacts) the current moment as it relates to working people and unions, to explore how their work was impacted by the pandemic and the public health orders that were made. The collection intends to preserve this moment for future historians.
Local 170 fully supported this project and Business Manager Al Phillips provided an interview on how COVID-19 has affected our members and the membership of BC’s Building Trades.
