UA Local 170 is pleased to see new steps being taken to ensure better crane safety on construction sites across the province.
The provincial government has announced a mandatory crane licensing and permitting program through WorkSafeBC that is designed to strengthen safety oversight.
There have been far too many crane incidents that have caused death and injury in B.C. and we sincerely hope this new licensing and permitting program will save lives and increase overall safety.
All construction workers deserve to come home safely at the end of their shift. Thank you to all of our friends and colleagues who fought for this new safety regulation!
